What is Hope's Journey?
The newest branch of SRFM...
Please pray for the board of directors as we press in to discover God's timing, His strategy, and His plan for Hope's Journey.
We are under contract to purchase a building in Ouray County, Colorado. Our next step is to amend the zoning code to allow for a place like Hope's Journey. This is a big process. Please pray that we will have favor with the County and its commissioners.

Hope's Journey Int'l

Purpose:
“...to give them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord that He may be glorified.” Isaiah 61:3
Hope's Journey is a dream that was placed on Charity's heart over 12 years ago after she overcame a life threatening burn injury. Over the years it has become evident that this desire wasn't just Charity's desire but that it was God's desire also. It seems that now is the time for Hope's Journey to make its debut. God has gone to great lengths to increase not only our faith as a ministry but also our trust in Him. We are currently looking at a possible location for the beginning phases of Hope's Journey. Please join us in prayer and celebration as we watch to see what God's strategy is for this brand new ministry as it begins to take shape.
Mission:
To create a recuperation center where burned, traumatized, and disabled children and young adults may reside year-round as they continue with their therapy and recovery. It is to be a place of physical and emotional healing before they journey into their everyday lives.
Vision:
We want these individuals to have the opportunity to see their own self-worth and abilities before being thrust into a world of critical people, including peers, who often lack compassion and love. We will accomplish this through horseback riding, music and art therapy, excursions into the national forest, various outdoor activities, an a professional staff who enable these individuals to find creative ways to perform any activity or everyday function that they wish to, but think themselves unable.
Our Ministry:
Our ministry will be demonstrating God’s unconditional love and acceptance to all involved. We hope to offer God’s strength as a main tool for coping as this has proven to be our main tool for coping. We will do this by exposing them to biblical truths about who they are, who God is, and the good news that Jesus died for our sins that we might be reconciled to God. We will allow this to happen according to God’s will and timing, not our own.
Goal:
Our goal is a year-round ranch facility where individuals needing recovery time from injuries (primarily burn victims) come to heal both physically and emotionally before returning to their hometown and beginning their new lives. The center will be a safe, serene, and picturesque place that is very inviting to the recuperating person and makes it possible for them to transition into a world that will be new for them.
Although there will be much available as far as therapies and activities. our goals are not to put these children into a rigorous schedule. We want to discover each individual’s interests and goals and then motivate them in those areas. We desire that they see this place as somewhere to relax, be themselves, but also enjoy themselves. We hope that there is enough variety so that they may each find something that interests them whether it be something new that they’ve never done, or something that they already excel at and just want to spend more time doing.
